What you need to know when staying

  • Arrivals are usually after 4pm. There is no one on site. The key is contained in a keystore on the right hand side of the door. You will be provided with a number to use in the dial before your holiday. Remember to take this with you as you will not be able to get in without it.
  • Departure is at 10am. We don't expect you to leave the apartment as you found it- its your holiday after all! However you must ensure that all rubbish is taken out the night before and take any that you cannot put out with you. If you could strip used beds and put the linens in the washing machine that would be greatly appreciated as our turnaround time is limited.
  • Waste- there is no space for an outside waste bin in our apartment which makes rubbish collection a bit unique- we get a great service. Waste should be separted in recycle and normal waste- there are two types of bags in the apartment and it is obvious to see which is which. The full bags must be placed outside the front door when they will be collected early in the morning- every morning. There is a knack as to when to put it out as no one wants a bag of rubbish on the street all day attracting seagulls. So if you go to bed late put it out before you go to bed and if you are an early riser put it out then. The cloest you can get it out for 7am the better!
  • Heating- the apartment is centrally heated. The instructions for the boiler are in the same cupboard as the boiler. You will need to turn it on, probably, when you go in. The boiler is situated in the large cupboard at the top of the stairs. Please do not use the heating on the all day setting as the apartment gets too warm and you have to open windows which is just a terrible waste of money. There is also a gas fire in the lounge which is very warm and cosy.
  • Hot water- it is a combi boiler as long as the boiler is on you will have constant hot water. You need to let it run a few minutes.
  • Showers- the showers are both electric and do not need the boiler to be on.
  • If you need additional cleaning during the week or extra bedding please phone Susan on 07707082808. As she is local she is also the person to contact should you lose the keys or have any problems during your stay.
  • We do not charge a deposit prefering to trust our guests to leave the apartmemnt and its contents in a good state, please help us to continue to do this.
  • We welcome dogs but please not in bedrooms or on furniture thanks.
  • The fridge freezer will most likely be switched off when you arrive. To switch it on please just plug it in under the sink.
  • There is a cot available and a high chair. No bedding is provide for the cot so please bring your own. The highchair is in the cupboard outside the bathroom and the cot is usally in the cupboard beside the boiler. Please return when yo0u have finished with them and make sure they are clean before putting them back!
  • There are stairgates available for you in the cupboard beside the bathroom.
  • We do not provide towels so please make sure you bring your own. If you forget the hardware shop has a selection.
  • With all the windows in the bedrooms it gets very light in the Summer, the blinds are blackout blinds so if the light is waking you early please use them.
  • All cleaning materials, vacuum, mop, salt, pepper are provided. There will also be sufficient toilet paper and tea and coffee to last you a few days.
  • The jacussi for the bath is in the bathroom cupboard. It actually works really well- please do not use bubble bath or you will have bubbles everywhere!
  • There is parking for one car just outside the apartment in space number 11. If you have additional cars you will need to park in Harbour Road car park which is free of charge and only 2 minutes walk.
